10 Reasons Sugar Is Bad

sugar is bad
I'm sure that you know your body is a sugar machine right? At least I think you know that. Your body runs on sugar, it's a sugar machine. However, it's food that gets properly digested and then converted into a special type of sugar that your body runs on, not table sugar.

Too much sugar, eaten directly, can and will mess with the fine balance your body has already put in place. Too much sugar can tax your pancreas while it deals with blood sugar regulation. Tax it for too long and it will give up, ending in blood sugar disease such as Diabetes.

:Kristine, my was to submit a very up close and personal article on the truth about sugar, diabetes and syndrome X, but alas, it was not meant to be this week. Computer issues have put the article on hold for at least one more week while she sources out a replacement computer.

I'll be reintroducing a few of the top reasons that sugar is bad for you over the coming days and weeks, starting with these from Nancy Appleton, Phd. author of the book Lick the Sugar Habit.

10 Reasons Sugar Is Bad

  1. Sugar can suppress the immune system

  2. Sugar upsets the mineral relationships in the body

  3. Sugar can cause hyperactivity, anxiety, difficulty concentrating,
    and crankiness in children

  4. Sugar can produce a significant rise in triglycerides

  5. Sugar contributes to the reduction in defense against bacterial infection (infectious diseases)

  6. Sugar causes a loss of tissue elasticity and function, the more sugar you eat the more elasticity and function you loose

  7. Sugar reduces high density lipoproteins

  8. Sugar leads to chromium deficiency

  9. Sugar leads to cancer of the breast, ovaries, prostrate, and rectum

  10. Sugar can increase fasting levels of glucose

This is a partial list from , just to wet your appetite for this topic. :Kristine will be submitting her article next Thursday on my other blog

Powerful Women From History

powerful women from history
One of the new writers for my blog is Kandace. Kandace has started a new series on the Strength of Ancient Women starting with a post she just did in regards to Spartan women, then telling the story of an African Queen or Warrior (we're not sure yet), then more powerful women from history including Egypt, Greece and Atlantis to name a few.

spartan woman
She and I were both attracted to the movie 300 that come out earlier this spring. She was especially attracted to the strength of the Spartan women and began to do some research on them, what they had to go through, how they trained and began to find some fascinating information about it.

Well, she's now writing about the on my blog.

I asked Kandace to continue the series with more powerful women from history so that we could explore the strength of ancient women.

Kandace actually channels the women from history who want to have their stories told, to inspire women from today to tap into their inner strength.

I'm told that there are a large number of women gathering and very excited about having their stories told so that that may share with the women of today any advice or secrets from the past that made them great women.

african queen
Kandace describes what she'll be writing about in the upcoming weeks:
I will be exploring an ancient African queen or warrior, I can't tell which she is yet but I know what she looks like.

Then I will move onto women from:
Atlantis, Greece, Egypt and the rest I suppose will be shown to me then.

It will be about there strengths and what made them that way. How we can call upon them to regain our true womanhood, that kind of thing.

I can't be really specific right now because with each woman, the stories and what they want to put forth may change from what I am thinking.

The Spartan Women thing already has.

I was introduced to Kandace via her free Thursday night conference call. I called in, listened, participated in the discussion and then booked a session for the next day right there on the call.

During my session, she opened up my eyes and my heart with her love and guidance. I learned so much about myself, what I was going through, my relationships and my dad who had passed away. Then I asked her about my cats. What I learned changed my relationship with them and brought new light into my dark space.

I'm truly thankful to not only call her a friend, but to have her writing for my blog as well.

If you're interested in meeting her, talking with her and getting clarity on whatever is going on in your life, I highly suggest you dial in to her Thursday night call

The number is 712-580-0100 and it's at 8:00 PM Est time, 5:00 Pacific time

Read her bio and all her posts on my new blog and community or learn more about her on her own website Clarity with Kandace.

Almond Growers Want Delay Before They Have To Kill Their Almonds

almond pasteurization raw organic natural
Almond growers of California ABC are asking for a delay in their requirement to kill and add the necessary highly toxic flammable compounds to the almonds you'll be eating as required by the United States Government. They're being forced to pasteurize their almonds and if you don't act by the August 31st, 2007, your raw organic or natural almonds will be a thing of the past.

Remember the salmonella outbreak in 2004 which affected a few people? Well, the USDA have decided that spending a few dollars on educating people (running a few TV advertising spots) on how to wash their fruits, vegetables and almonds would not be as efficient as killing all the nutrition and sterilizing the Almonds.

From the San Fransisco Gate:

In January, the U.S. Department of Agriculture announced that virtually all almonds would have to be pasteurized as of September 1. This new rule was a result of Salmonella outbreaks in 2001 and 2004 that were traced back to raw almonds.

The California Almond Board is now requesting the USDA delay the implementation until March 1, 2008 in order to ensure theres enough pasteurization capacity available to comply, without disrupting the flow of nuts to the market.

The USDA has stated it will consider the request and publish their decision in the Federal Register by September 1.

Remember dear reader that if they do this for almonds, they'll do it for everything in your food supply.

My guess is that the US is realizing that the farm land and areas used to grow food will no longer be able to support the amount of people on this planet. So to aleviate the strain on the food supply, it would be a good idea to have more humans perish from lack of nutriton, and to quickly die off, thus leaving the rest of us "in the know" to have food grown locally.

I'm not kidding.

Dr Mercola has this to say about the pasteurization process

As gentle and safe as this may sound, pasteurizing almonds means they are no longer natural or raw.

Anytime you heat a food much above 105 degrees you start destroying the value of the food. The higher the temperature the more damage that is done.

The requirement to pasteurize ALL almonds means that it may be next to impossible to find an almond in the United States that's still in the state nature intended, and no one knows how this process will impact the nutritional value or other properties of the nuts.

This is not rocket science folks. Nearly everyone readily accepts that when you cook vegetables to death they do not provide the same nutritional value as when they are eaten raw. Similarly, I have documented the enormous problems with pasteurized milk. It would seem rational to conclude that one would see similar reduction in the nutritional value of the almonds once they are pasteurized. Fortunately hundreds of thousands of Americans are finally appreciating this truth

In response to an article Mercola posted, he was told that

the ABC [Almond Board of California] will not use any heating or radiation to pasteurize their almonds. Instead, he explained, they will use propylene oxide in their almond pasteurization process. In the FDAs Guide to Inspections of Manufacturers of Miscellaneous Food Products, this process is referred to as terminal gas sterilization.

Even a simple search for proplyene oxide in Wikipedia provides the following information: "Propylene oxide is a highly toxic flammable chemical compound. It was once used as a racing fuel, but that usage is now prohibited under the US National Hot Rod rules for safety reasons. It is also used in thermobaric weapons. It is an epoxide."

Maybe they just have too much of this crap and have to get rid of it much like the whole fluoride issue.

What Should You Be Eating To Burn Fat

The answer:

"Its something you should eat every day, every meal."

Listen for the Key Moment:
"You should eat this within an hour of waking up in the morning..."
On behalf of my special guest, Tom Bilella, D.C., C.C.N., Director of the Nutrition Treatment Center, Red Bank, NJ,

[Rob's Note:] This is so important that you should not only be eating this within the first hour, but every 3 hours all day long. This builds on the audio clip from a few weeks ago where Tom Bilella discussed the , eating 3 meals by 3 pm. It's a good plan to follow. The tip that Tom and Shawn talk about here was a defining moment in my life.

It's simple. Follow this rule, burn more fat!
