I dont support the fund raisers, not ever, I feel very strongly against supporting the fund raisers who have no intention of providing a solution and who's only interest is in raising money. What I will do is support the "Make a Wish Foundation" which provides wishes for terminally ill children.
Im not sure if youre aware or not, but there are known ways to prevent cancer and reverse cancer, but theres more money in keeping us sick, so you wont really hear too much about it.
I have a friend who provided a way to end cravings for smoking and was teaching a class to participants all over Edmonton. He got a call from his lawyer saying that someone wasnt very happy with what he was doing and to be careful. It was a very large lung cancer research fund raising company, and within a few weeks had lost the ability to present his course. They saw a challenge to their fund raising and shut him down. Im not sure Im even supposed to talk about this, so Im keeping it vague.
Im seriously looking at an entire plant based diet again. It was part of my original program back in the early 1990s and Ive come full circle back to vegetarianism or at least 90% vegetarian.
One benefit of eating meat free, even if temporarily, is to give your digestive tract a huge and often need rest. Another is an improvement in bowel movements as the more fiber and less meat speeds the transit time of wastes.
If you ever find yourself constipated, the temporary removal of meat can quickly provide results.
The report says there is convincing evidence linking consumption of alcohol, red meat and processed meat to elevated cancer risk and says that carrying excess body fat boosts the risk for cancer of the esophagus, pancreas, colon, kidney and endometrial as well as breast cancer in post-menopausal women.
Ive been on both sides of the meat coin over the past 17 years, first adopting a vegetarian lifestyle for 12 years including the complete elimination of all animal products for 2 years and then making a return to meat eating in 2003.
Recently, Ive decided to again lower my meat consumption and further increase my vegetables, nut and seeds and completely eliminate wheat.
I thought Id offer a thought on ways to lower your meat consumption and increase your knowledge of whole foods piece by piece
- Begin with one vegetarian meal per week
- Learn more about the nutritional value of vegetables
- Increase the variety of vegetables that you eat to include Kale and Spinach or others that you had not eaten in the past
- Begin creating your own healthy home made salad dressings
- Begin to eat one vegetarian meal per day
- Learn about different types of grains like the ones mentioned above like Oatmeal, Basmati Rice, Kamut, Spelt, Millet and begin to move away from Wheat
- Add a handful of raw nuts and seeds into your day. Ten almonds twice a day as a snack, raw pumpkin seeds or even Hemp Hearts added to your salads
- Begin to have a meat free day or two per week
Making the change in this way will help you succeed because you dont have to know everything all at once. You can wean into it over time as you learn about these new concepts. My girlfriend Darlene provides great vegetarian recipes and whole food recipes that will help you learn more about whole foods and how to prepare them.
